AI help
AI that does the busywork.
Buttons right where you work that read, sum up and draft. You check every draft, and nothing is sent, booked or charged until you do it.

Fill a gig from an email
Paste the client's email. The date, venue, times and guests fill in, marked for you to check.
How it works
Ask your band's records
Type a question in search, like who's on Saturday's gig. The answer links to the page it came from.
How it works
Read their contract
A planner's contract in plain words, with the clauses worth a second look quoted. Not legal advice.
How it works
Every player's brief
On gig day each player gets when to be there, where to park, what to wear and their part. Never the band's money.
How it worksAlso: draft replies and payment reminders, scan receipts into Expenses, match an e-Transfer to its invoice, import your old spreadsheet, suggest a running order, draft the run sheet from the client's plan, and catch up on a long chat.
- Drafts you check. What it fills is marked until you change it.
- Nothing goes by itself. It never messages a client, books a date or marks anything paid.
- Only your band's data. Players never get money answers. Nothing is shared between bands.
- Yours to switch off. One switch in Settings. A monthly allowance per band, and everything works by hand.
The film
Your band, minus the hundred texts.
Fifty-five seconds on what Backstage does for a working band. Sound on.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
Anything else? Ask in the early access form. It goes straight to the band leader who built Backstage.
Is Backstage available now?
Backstage runs real gigs for its first band today. We're opening it to more bands in small groups. Join early access and we'll be in touch. The live demo is open to everyone now.
Do players, subs or clients pay?
No. Plans are per band, with unlimited members. Players, subs, crew and your clients never pay.
Can a player use it for several bands?
Yes. One login shows every band they play in: gigs in one list with clashes flagged, pay from each band, and every band's chats. Each band only sees its own gigs with them.
Can clients find me on Backstage?
Yes, if you choose to be listed. Backstage Live gives you a public artist page with your bio, photos, video, songs and reviews from real bookings, no prices. Clients search bands and DJs by city and date, and a date check lands in your Enquiries.
Do clients sign off on a price the app worked out?
No. Clients build their booking and see an estimate, then request to book. You check it, change anything you need, and confirm the final price. Only then do they sign and pay a deposit.
Does it use AI?
Yes, as buttons where the work is: fill a gig from an email, scan a receipt, draft a reply, read a contract, ask a question in search. Everything is a draft you check. It never sends, books or charges anything by itself, it only reads your own band's data, and you can switch it off in Settings.
How AI help worksIs there a free trial?
Yes. New bands get 14 days of everything, with no card. After that you keep the plan and add-ons you use. Nothing you've added is ever deleted.
How do I learn it?
Start with the live demo, no sign-up. The docs have a short page for every feature with annotated screenshots, and a PDF guide.
Read the docsIs it an app I download from the App Store?
It's a web app you install from the browser: Share, then Add to Home Screen on iPhone, or Install on Android. It opens full screen and sends notifications. No app store needed.
Does it work without signal?
Yes, for what you need at a gig. Open Gig day and your show once with signal, and charts are saved on the device. They keep working in a basement or a field.
Is it just for wedding bands?
No. It works for wedding and event bands, corporate and party bands, cover and residency bands, touring acts, and DJs. Wedding options only show when you play weddings.
See Backstage for DJsI run a DJ company. Can it handle several DJs?
Yes. One brand with a roster of DJs and several events on one date. You see how many DJs are booked each day, assign or offer each gig, and nobody or no gear kit gets double-booked. Each DJ sees only their own gigs.
See the Company planCan clients pay by card?
Coming soon. Card payments for deposits and balances are in testing now. The money goes straight to your own Stripe account.
I manage several artists. Is there a version for me?
Yes. The Manager plan runs several artists in one portal, with separate books, a combined calendar, double-booking alerts and commission tracking.
See the Manager planWhich countries does it support?
Anywhere. Pick your country and the app sets your currency, tax (VAT, GST or sales tax), distances in km or miles and how you pay players. Canada and the US also get provincial and state tax and year-end forms. English only for now.
